\n\"\"<\/span><\/span>Situato sul monte Antognano (m 805), domina le vallate del Secchia e del Tresinaro. L\u2019edificazione del primo presidio difensivo fortificato, che con il trascorrere degli anni si trasform\u00f2 nel castello vero e proprio, risale al X secolo per mano di Atto Adalberto di Canossa, avo di Matilde, ma fu durante la reggenza di questa intraprendente contessa che raggiunse il massimo del suo splendore, corredato per volere della signora anche di una chiesa in stile romanico, dedicata a sant\u2019Andrea, consacrata nel 1077, e tutt\u2019oggi ben conservata. Il Castello delle Carpinete fu al centro del mondo cristiano nell\u2019epoca della lotta per le investiture tra papato e impero, quando ospit\u00f2 nel 1092 il \u201cConvegno di Carpineti\u201d, importante riflessione dei vertici della Chiesa nello scontro con l\u2019imperatore Enrico IV. La struttura \u00e8 quella di un castello-recinto in cui una prima cinta muraria includeva originariamente il borgo e la chiesa. All\u2019interno di questa cinta si sviluppa un altro circuito di mura che delimitava lo spazio fortificato, pi\u00f9 ridotto ed elevato. In questo spazio, ultimo baluardo della difesa, vi erano le costruzioni militari e residenziali pi\u00f9 importanti: il \u201cmastio\u201d e le cisterne dell\u2019acqua. La torre quadrata si sviluppava su quattro piani, riconoscibili dalle tracce delle riseghe sui muri. La cima del mastio pu\u00f2 oggi essere raggiunta attraverso una scala interna, e dall\u2019alto del belvedere il panorama \u00e8 magnifico. Intorno al castello si sviluppava il borgo di cui \u00e8 ancora visibile il cimitero risalente al XVI secolo.<\/p>\n

Situated on the Antognano mountain (m 805 above sea level), the castle overlooks the valleys of the rivers Secchia and Tresinaro. The building of the first fortified defensive garrison dates back to X century and was made by Atto Adalberto di Canossa, an ancestor of Matilde di Canossa. It was in fact during the reign of this very resourceful countess that\u00a0the castle reached\u00a0the highest point in its history: the countess enriched the castle building adding to the complex the romanic church of Sant\u2019Andrea, sanctified in 1077 and still well preserved.<\/em><\/div>\n
The Castello delle Carpinete was the core of the cristian world during the age of the fights for power over Europe between Popedom and Empire, and in 1092 it hosted the convention of Carpineti, a very important event in the history of the conflict between Popedom and Emperor Henry IV.<\/em><\/div>\n
The castle has the structure of a castle-enclosure, and the first wall belt was originally included borough and church.<\/em><\/div>\n
Inside this first belt there was another wall belt defending the fortified core of the complex, smaller and higher.<\/em><\/div>\n
In this very last defensive stronghold were the most important military and residential buildings: the mastio\u00a0– a tower shaped fortress – and the water tanks.<\/em><\/div>\n
The square tower has four different levels, still recognizable by the signs on the walls.<\/em><\/div>\n
The top of the fortress and its absolutely stunning view can today be reached by an external staircase.<\/em>
\nIt is still possible to see the cemetery of the castle borough, that dates back to XVI century.<\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\r\n
